Scotch Tasting

It's that time of year again and I'm planning our next guy's night out at the club with our fourth annual Single Malt Scotch Tasting on Friday January 29th, 2010. If you remember at last year's event, we all agreed that this time it would be fun to try a vertical tasting of only The Macallan, with ages ranging from 10 year old to 25 year old.

The 25 year malt carries approximately a $650 price tag, and I have been unable to find a sponsor from their distributors. So, if we get our usual 35 attendees to the event, it will require a cost of $30 per head to cover the costs of food plus all the scotch. If you are interested in joining us that evening and can mark your calendar for Friday, January 29th, then please drop me a quick email so I can confirm that we will have enough attendees to justify sharing the cost and enjoy a taste of this "nectar of the gods".

I realize that last minute changes to schedules happen, but it would really help me to have a rough headcount for planning purposes. Once I get the list of possible attendees, I will send out another email with details on time, payment, etc. Best Regards, Ron L.

Board Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, 7:30pm, at the pool club house. All are welcome to attend.

Lifeguard Applications

We are now accepting SWCA lifeguard applications for the 2010 summer season. We plan to conduct interviews over the Christmas Holiday break so be sure to apply now. Applications can be submitted on-line through our Lifeguard Applications Form.

Progressive Dinner

Saturday February 27th Mark your calendars - This is one of the most fun events of the year! For those unfamiliar with the event, here is how the Progressive Dinner works: First, we all start at one house for drinks and appetizers. We then break into small groups and head off to different host houses for the salad course. Following the salads, we form new small groups and amble over to different houses for the dinner course. After dinner, we all meet back at the club for dessert, and more drinks….. In order for this lively event to happen, we need volunteers. Would you like to be part of the organizing committee? Would like to volunteer to be a host house? If so, please contact: Anita Morrow or Lisa-Marie.

Newsletter - Kid's Corner

To better serve the needs of the kids in our community, SWCA is pleased to announce a pilot newsletter feature: The Kids’ Corner. Member kids who would like to publicize registration dates for their sports teams and other nonprofit clubs are welcome to submit that information for FREE. Submission deadline is always the 20th day of the month.
