4th of July Parade & BBQ

The Parade: Line-up at clubhouse parking lot, 11:00 a.m. Parade will start around11:30 a.m.

In honor of SWCA’s 50th Anniversary, we will expand the parade to include not only our traditional kids-on–bikes, but also a stroller brigade, color guard, “dignitary” cars and a couple floats. The parade will travel from the Club, down Saratoga Creek Dr, turn left on Hargrave, right on Easton, left on Melon, left on Radoyka, then left on Westview and back to the Club. Be a part of this very fun event! Get your friends and family together to watch the parade. If you have questions please contact Robin Navarro Strong.

The BBQ: The Pool Opens at 12:15 p.m. Games/Activities for Adults & Kids start at 3:00 p.m. The Grill will open at 5:00 p.m. The fun will continue with our annual barbecue. Games and activities for both adults and kids will start at 3:00 p.m.

The fun will include a diving contest, so kids and adults practice your cannonballs and crazy dives. The grill will open at 5:00 p.m. Please bring your own entrée to barbecue and place settings. We also ask that everyone bring a potluck item, based on the first letter of your last name. Please bring enough to share with 12 people.

A-F Dessert; G-M Salad; N-Z Side.

Beer, lemonade, and lots of FUN will be provided!! We’ll see YOU there!!!

Junior Life Guards

Our Junior Lifeguard Program is off to a great start with over 40 kids participating! They meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and have many fun activities planned. All SWCA members entering 6th — 9th grade may participate. Contact Michael Dean for more information.

Community Service Opportunity

During the on-line membership renewal process many members downloaded a family photo to be included in the password-protected online member directory. However, to make this online photo directory happen, we need an energetic person (high school-aged or older) wanting job experience (and possibly a reference) to download the photos, size them consistently and link them to members’ information. If you and possibly a friend are interested, please contact me regarding this work to be performed in the June - July time period. ~ Nancy Boling

50 Years of Memories

We need your help!! SWCA is putting together a DVD of photos and anecdotes to mark its 50th Anniversary. Do you have any photos from past club events or other special neighborhood events that we can use? Photos will be scanned and promptly returned to you in their original condition. How about funny stories or fond memories to share? Jot them down in an e-mail message, or give us a call. We would love to include you in the DVD! Contact Dina Holst or Robin Strong.

Newsletter - Kid's Corner

To better serve the needs of the kids in our community, SWCA is pleased to announce a pilot newsletter feature: The Kids’ Corner. Member kids who would like to publicize registration dates for their sports teams and other nonprofit clubs are welcome to submit that information for FREE. Submission deadline is always the 20th day of the month.
