Haunted Halloween Party

Join us for a ghoulish good time! Halloween, Friday, Oct 31, 5:00– 7:00 p.m. Don’t miss the fun!!

Start your Halloween night off right at our Haunted Halloween party. We’ll have lots of pre-trick-or-treating activities for you to enjoy. There will be carnival style games, prizes, goody bags, crafts, pizza, pasta and many other yummy treats.

New this year, we will have “The Haunted Woods Haunted House”. Those brave enough to enter, will learn the legend of the Haunted Woods and come face-to-face with all kinds of creepy characters. Everyone is welcome at this event!! Adults, don’t let the kids have all the fun. Wear your costume and be part of our grownups costume contest!! SEE YOU ON HALLOWEEN!

Holiday Crafters Faire

November 28 (Friday) 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (set up at 2:00 p.m.) November 29 (Saturday) 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (tear down 4:00 p.m.-6:00p.m.)

With so many talented crafters in our very own neighborhood, the Board was approached with the idea of holding our very own Crafters Fair made up of the talented people in this neighborhood. Crafters will be able to sell their creations from the comfort of our very own clubhouse. Space is limited.

The clubhouse should be able to hold about 8 vendors. Please let us know if you are interested in participating.

Details: Cost to each Vendor: $15/vendor — Goes toward clubhouse rental, coffee, drinks, utensils 10% of sales to SWCA as follows: 5% to the swim team and 5% to the club. Each vendor will need to help with advertising the event to friends and family. To keep costs down this year, we won’t be purchasing the extra pool club insurance, so advertising in the local newspaper isn’t possible. So, tell all your friends and family about the event!

Children's Holiday Parade

Los Gatos Saturday, December 6, 2008. This year, SWCA will have a float in the Los Gatos Children’s Holiday Parade! We will be decorating the float together in the week(s) before the parade and then showing off our neighborhood spirit by participating in the parade. Dolphins win JSSL champs!

In an unprecedented victory, the Saratoga Woods Dolphins won the JSSL Championships [results] on July 26, 2008 at Stanford. Mark this day in Dolphin history! And what a fantastic day it was!

Records broken:

• 11 & 12 relay team of Alex Cox, Iris Brand, Kristina Fong and Hannah Morrow broke their own record (2.10.04) with a new record time of 2.07.16.
• Stephanie Fong beat her record (30.33) in 13 & 14 girls Backstroke with a new record time of 29.43 and in 13 & 14 girls Freestyle previously set in 1994 of (26.28) with a new record time of 25.89.
• Kristin LaForge also broke her own record (33.17) in 15/18 girls Breaststroke with a time of 33.04.
• 15/18 relay team of Keith Buchner, Kristin LaForge, Michael Fleming and Justin LaForge beat a previous record set in 2006 of (1.51.94) with a new record time of 1.49.94.

Order of the Dolphin

The Order of the Dolphin is a very distinguished award given by the Head Coach to a graduating swimmer who has made considerable contributions consistently to the team over many years. The recipients of this award have demonstrated a high level of dedication to the sport and to our neighborhood team. This year’s winners are Michael Fleming, Keith Buchner and Justin LaForge.

To better serve the needs of the kids in our community, SWCA is pleased to announce a pilot newsletter feature: The Kids’ Corner. Member kids who would like to publicize registration dates for their sports teams and other nonprofit clubs are welcome to submit that information for FREE. Submission deadline is always the 20th day of the month.
