Tier 2 Instructors - Most Experienced
Kelly DeBarr has been teaching swim lessons and coaching for Saratoga Woods swim team for 9 years. She swam for Saratoga Woods for 13 years, and for Archbishop Mitty High School. Kelly enjoys working with swimmers of all ages and levels, and specializes in teaching beginning to advanced stroke technique. Kelly received her B.A. degree in Spanish and teaching credential from St. Mary's College.
Stephanie Fong is the current Swim Lessons Manager and is a rising sophomore at the University of Southern California. She has been swimming for Saratoga Woods for 13 years and competed for De Anza Cupertino Aquatics while at Saint Francis High School. This will be her 5th year as a lifeguard and instructor. Stephanie likes to work with kids of all ages and enjoys teaching beginning and advanced lessons.
Kristin LaForge will be starting her junior year at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo studying biological sciences in the fall. This is her third year teaching swim lessons at Saratoga Woods, as well as assistant coaching the swim team for the last two years. She prefers giving lessons to intermediate to higher level swimmers, but also enjoys giving lessons to all levels.
Tier 1 Instructors
Cathy Cantoni is currently a junior at Archbishop Mitty High School. She started swimming for Saratoga Woods at the age of 5. She has swam competitively for the past 5 years at DACA and Mitty. She also plays water polo at Stanford and Mitty. This is her first year of teaching lessons, but she is very excited! Cathy is a lifeguard and can teach all skill levels. She especially likes working with the younger swimmers.
Carolyn Crimi is a junior marketing major at Loyola Marymount University in LA. This will be her 5th year teaching beginning and intermediate lessons. Carolyn is only available for evening and weekend lessons.
Ellen Jewell is a freshman at Santa Clara University. She was on the swim team for 12 years until she graduated last summer, and has been teaching lessons for 4 years. She is also the Lifeguard Manager and Assistant Coach of the swim team. Ellen is great at working with kids of all ages.
Taylor Kubo just finished her first year at SDSU and swam for Saratoga Woods for 6 years. She has been teaching lessons for 3 years and is also a lifeguard and coach. She enjoys working with kids of any age and specializes in teaching beginner swimmers.
Alexandre Miranda will be freshman at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland in the fall. This will be his second year teaching swim lessons and he is also a lifeguard at Saratoga Woods. He prefers younger swimmers who are learning to swim.
Jenna Pyle is a junior at Archbishop Mitty High School and has been swimming on the Mitty swim team for three years. She has been on the Saratoga Woods swim team for 11 years and has also been a lifeguard for 3 years. She enjoys working with kids of all ages and especially enjoys working with younger swimmers just starting to swim.
Guy Quanrud is a senior at Albion College and swam for Saratoga Woods for 12 years. He has been teaching lessons for two years and has been a lifeguard for six years. Guy enjoys working with kids of any age and strives to improve the stroke technique of the swimmer.
Gabrielle Vasquez is a senior at Archbishop Mitty High School. She has been a member of the Mitty swim team for four years, and has swam for Saratoga Woods since she was 4 years old. Last summer, Gabrielle began teaching swim lessons at Saratoga Woods and DACA. She enjoys giving swim lessons to swimmers of all ages and abilities.
